Fifty

The job Su Hao found this time was very close to the Huahui Community, just a short walk away. She walked ahead, with the person trailing behind her. Su Hao gritted her teeth, wondering if she would ever get rid of this person.

Fortunately, she soon entered the community and didn’t look back, continuing upstairs.

The community had restricted access, so Zhou Yang couldn't follow her inside. He pondered whether he could buy this community; it looked relatively new and had a high occupancy rate. Beep, beep—Zhou Yang, with his hands in his pockets, turned around as a Hummer of the same model pulled up. The window rolled down, and Xu Dian, wearing silver-rimmed glasses, leaned casually against the window sill and smiled, “What’s up? Are you copying me?”

Zhou Yang clicked his tongue, “Guess.”

“This isn’t Switzerland, it’s a bit difficult,” Xu Dian said with a smile.

Zhou Yang stood upright, his visible bruises giving him a roguish appearance. “You can drop someone off; I can too.”

“Really? Didn’t sleep all night?”

“Are you here just to watch the show?”

Xu Dian chuckled softly, “Exactly.”

Zhou Yang’s face grew cold as he walked over, kicked the car door, and, after a moment, helplessly leaned against the car, lowered his head, and lit a cigarette. “She’s stubborn and resistant, it’s too hard.”

“Have you thought it through?” Xu Dian, with one hand on the steering wheel, glanced at him, “Pursuing her might not be as carefree as before.”

Zhou Yang looked down, playing with the cigarette. He closed his eyes and said, “I’ve thought about it for a month, and in the end…”

“Couldn’t escape.”

Xu Dian laughed heartily.

“Deserved.”

Meitong is a company targeting Southeast Asia. In recent years, business in Europe has become less profitable, so many companies, including Meitong, have shifted focus to the Southeast Asian market. There is a large integrated network in Southeast Asia, and Meitong aims to capture traffic on this platform.

Su Hao is in charge of the beauty section, where lipsticks, lip balms, and eyeshadows are the bestsellers.

Recently, there has been a promotional event.

With a surge in traffic, Su Hao has been constantly updating the backend and refreshing products.

The number of backend inquiries has also increased.

Two companies, Lianwo and Chengfeng, are competing with Su Hao for traffic. Su Hao is currently the only female employee at the company.

Whenever the three R&D personnel have free time, they come over to bring Su Hao food.

The boss's wife, named Qiqi, stood in the back and said, “Su Hao, you seem to have a good grasp of math, you're quite adept at timing the refresh.”

Su Hao smiled, “I figured out the pattern.”

Qiqi nodded, “You’re selling much better than those other ones.”

“Thank you.”

“You're welcome.” Qiqi sneakily took a piece of biscuit from Su Hao’s desk, eating it as she walked away. R&D staff member Xiao Qi, sitting next to Su Hao, asked, “Did you receive any emails?”

Su Hao was replying to backend inquiries.

After sending a series of English messages, she turned and asked, “What email?”

Xiao Qi blinked, “The acquisition email.”

Su Hao was taken aback, “Is Meitong being acquired?”

“Our website is performing well, so someone wants to acquire us. The other two companies are also being acquired. The capitalists want to dominate.”

Su Hao asked, “Should we concede?”

“I don’t think the boss wants to. He’s only looking for investors.”

Su Hao nodded.

“That’s the right approach.”

Ownership comes with investment, but if acquired, it’s gone. Su Hao sighed in relief, glad that such matters did not arise right when she started her new job.

Just then, the company email chimed, and Xiao Qi, feeling tense, urged, “Open it and check.”

Su Hao moved the mouse and clicked to open the email.

It clearly read "Feijie General Office" with the signature below: Lu Qi.

Su Hao: “”

Zhou Yang was relentless.

Xiao Qi looked at the screen and said, “It’s another acquisition!”

Su Hao rested her forehead in her hand. If they were really being acquired and turned into employees of the Zhou Group, Xiao Qi turned to call out, “Boss, boss, it’s here again!”

“What’s here?” The boss, surnamed Yan and called Cui, rushed out. After seeing the email, he spat, “Tell him to get lost, don’t be polite.”

Su Hao coughed lightly and edited a few words.

In just one night, Zhou Yang had entered the military technology field. The whole office was aware of the situation; he stood with his hands in his pockets, leaning against the wall.

Seeing a few people looking at models, Assistant Lu whispered, “Mr. Zhou, I’ve sent the email to Meitong, but they’ve replied.”

Zhou Yang frowned and looked over.

Assistant Lu opened the page for him to see.

The email sent out.

The reply was just one word: “Thanks, but please go away.”

Zhou Yang narrowed his eyes, “Who replied?”

Assistant Lu whispered, “Su Hao.”

Zhou Yang: “”

Assistant Lu continued, “Recently, Lianwo can’t compete with Meitong. During today’s event, Su Hao captured a large share of the traffic. Miss Su isn’t just a cashier; she’s quite skilled in foreign trade too.”

Zhou Yang scratched his forehead, “I didn’t think she was bad. Her personality suits her role well.”

He had told Su Hao to leave this small company this morning because he planned a large acquisition. Capitalists prefer to consolidate power.

Now was a great time to export Chinese brands to Southeast Asia, and Zhou Yang planned to acquire all three small companies and integrate them.

Unexpectedly, Su Hao joined the most difficult one and was now giving him attitude.

Impressive.

Her face and demeanor were all he could think about.

Due to the event, Su Hao was busy until nearly 6:30 PM. Xiao Qi was also busy at this time, so they left together, as the sky darkened.

When they arrived at the community entrance, a tall, handsome man leaning casually against a car and smoking straightened up upon seeing Su Hao, but then his gaze fell on the man beside her.

Xiao Qi stopped mid-sentence, looking at the tall man with some trepidation.

Su Hao furrowed her brows and glanced over.

Zhou Yang smiled, “Have you had dinner? Let me treat you.”

Su Hao ignored him.

She continued walking. The sidewalk was occasionally crowded with electric bikes and bicycles. At this moment, someone was speeding by on an electric bike. Zhou Yang grabbed Su Hao’s wrist and pulled her back a few steps. Su Hao was taken aback and was about to speak.

Zhou Yang’s hand released her, his hands back in his pockets. He slightly leaned forward and said, “I didn’t mean to. I need to protect you, don’t I?”

“This area is a bit chaotic. How about I get you a new place to live tomorrow?” He turned sideways, looking down, with the collar of his shirt slightly open and a smile on his face.

Su Hao glanced at him, their eyes meeting.

The lighting here was quite bright and messy. His eyes held a slight smile but were faintly tense. Su Hao suddenly asked, “What do you want?”

“To date you.”

After saying that, Zhou Yang straightened up, his narrow eyes coldly scanning over to Xiao Qi, “Get lost.”

Xiao Qi was startled and instinctively started to leave, but still stood his ground.

Su Hao was annoyed hearing Zhou Yang’s tone. She grabbed his collar and said angrily, “Don’t treat my colleague like that.”

Zhou Yang was taken aback.

He clenched his teeth, and after a few seconds, slightly lowered his head, “Alright, if you don’t want me to act this way, just say one sentence to me, and I’d be happy.”

His hand, still in his pocket, had visible veins bulging.

She defended this person—what kind of person was he!

Damn it, he’s even sticking around after work!
